Trade is part of the Treasury & Trade Solutions (TTS) business of Citi. Trade involves a broad range of funded and unfunded Trade products and solutions including the following businesses; (i) Trade Services (including import/export letters of credit, guarantees, insurance letters of credit, bills discounting, trade advances); (ii) Trade Finance (receivables finance, bills discounting, distribution/distributor finance, export & import Loans, structured trade including pre-export loans and commodity backed financings); (iii) Supplier Finance and (iv) Export & Agency Finance (EAF).

The role includes managing the Trade Product Sales teams as well as working with Trade Product and clients throughout the globe, including both developed and emerging market countries.

The role reports directly to the TTS Trade Global Head with matrix reporting to the TTS Head of Sales and will be responsible for managing the Trade Sales activities (for Corporate, Public Sector and FI) globally. The role is part of the Global Trade ExCo.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Meeting the Trade global revenue targets

    • Working with Trade partners across the globe to expand and grow cross-regional Trade revenue for ICG clients

    • Managing and building the Trade Product Sales team to expand trade specific origination within each region

    • Partnering with the ICG Relationship Bankers and TTS Sales team to grow and expand the Trade wallet

    • Working closely with the TTS Regional Heads, Trade Regional Heads and Country Trade teams to enhance their understanding of Trade products across the TTS Sales teams and leverage their network for greater origination

    • Partnering with Banking teams in the region and across countries to leverage on the Bankers’ portfolio and support them in identifying trade opportunities across their clients

    • Developing good working relationships with ICG client coverage seniors, industry specialists and risk seniors

    • Coaching and mentoring the Trade Sales Regional Heads and key Trade Sales Team members to up-tier their sales, structuring and credit skills.

    • Providing support and direction into "winning" the most complex and profitable transactions

    • Fostering a strong "one team" mentality across various Trade product & sales teams seeking to maximize collaboration, cross-sell & build team spirit across regions a broad and culturally diverse team

    • Building a strong partnership with the Trade Product and Operations teams and constantly seeking ways to improve Trade efficiency, turnaround times and ensuring we minimize operational losses/errors

    • Building strong partnership with the trade risk distribution to help Trade effectively manage its balance sheet, individual credit exposures and increase skim revenues

    • Contributing to global Trade being No.1 in the Dealogic League Tables and improving Trade’s results in league tables and general market presence

Qualifications

Education:

  • Degree or equivalent preferred.

    • Exceptional candidates who do not meet these criteria may be considered for the role, provided they have the necessary skills and experience
