Finance Manager, AWS - Amazon

Amazon is looking for a Finance Manager to join an exciting new project team working to build a completely new best in class consumer product. This Finance Manager will play an active role in influencing financial, strategic and operational decisions.


Primary responsibilities will be to drive/support the overall product development from initial product inception to product launch and then continuing over the lifetime of the product. The ideal candidate will possess a keen sense of ownership for building a new business from the ground up, as well as a track record for identifying key business questions and building analyses to answer those questions in an ambiguous environment. We are looking for someone that has strong analytical and communication skills, with an ability to articulate financial strategy, results and forecasts to senior leadership. Scrappiness is a must, as is the ability to dive deep into the data to help the new business achieve results.

The key responsibilities include:
· Build financial models and business plans for new initiatives
· Create actionable analyses to lead business improvements and cost reductions
· Drive all weekly and monthly financial activities as well as planning, forecasting, and reporting to inform the business teams on product performance, P&L impact, risks & opportunities.
· Develop efficient financial processes that scale with the business


· BA/BS degree in mathematics, statistics, finance or a related field
· 7+ years of finance experience, OR master’s degree and 5 years of experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
· 3+ years of experience with Excel advanced functions


· An MBA or MS in finance or a related field
· Passion for startups, understanding of how startups operate
· An ability to multitask and manage multiple projects - work prioritization, planning and task delegation
· An ability to work independently and self-motivate in a fast-paced and rapidly-changing environment
· An ability to develop new ideas and creative solutions
· An ability to meet tight deadlines and prioritize workload
· Strong interpersonal skills, including written and oral communication skills
· A desire to grow professionally as the role’s responsibility grows rapidly with the business
· Ability to effectively work with a variety of organizations, management levels, cultures, and personalities
