Overview

The Global Product Marketing organization, as part of Integrated Marketing & Communications, partners with the Product and Services teams, and is accountable for end-to-end product marketing. This includes leveraging consumer insights, customer insights and market knowledge to help identify, test and refine product concepts, positioning and packaging; developing sales enablement and b2b2c tools; and developing, executing and scaling marketing plans globally.

The Director Global Product Marketing provides product marketing support for core products, commercial card solutions for our internal stakeholders worldwide. This role reports to the Senior Vice President Global Product Marketing and is accountable for developing product value propositions, portfolio optimization and product marketing strategies. The Director Product Marketing serves as the voice of the stakeholder by partnering with the Sales teams to create marketing solutions for customers, leverage Mastercard’s assets and marketing platforms and deliver a consistent and differentiated stakeholder experience.

Role

o Be the resident marketing expert for assigned core products like Credit, Debit, Prepaid and Commercial

o Leverage market intelligence about card usage trends and competitors’ products as well as product knowledge of Mastercard products to identify new opportunities

o Collaborate with Communications specialists and develop product collateral and other sales tools to be used by the sales teams and B2B marketing

o Work closely with the product & innovation teams and B2B marketing to develop launch strategies for new products

o Assist the customer marketing and global account teams by providing insights to the products’ features and differentiation compared to other Mastercard and competitor products

o Participate in sales meetings with the sales teams

o Evaluate accomplishment of objectives using metrics defined for measuring marketing effectiveness

o Recommends, and oversees execution of Product Marketing strategies (including management of all materials and content) to drive adoption and usage; may include developing a global template to influence regional strategies

o Crafts and recommends product value propositions that are consumer-led, crisp and competitively positioned

o Translates high-level direction into desired specifications for effective and scalable sales materials and packaging/wrappers for products and bundles

o Recommends a consumer/customer testing plan for concepts and prototypes

o Steers integration of product programs with marketing platforms and vice-versa

o Oversees parts of Product Marketing budget to ensure that all campaigns, programs, and activities are within allocated budget

All About You

o Demonstrated success in identifying insights for a product marketing campaign and leading a team to execute it

o Demonstrated success in developing product bundles and packaging for new and existing products

o Demonstrated ability to successfully integrate marketing assets with products and product platforms

o Experience identifying research needs for a quantitative study resulting in ability to represent the voice of the customer

o Experience working in multiple areas of the Marketing function

o Led complex cross-functional projects locally

o Demonstrated success building relationships and delivering results with global, multi-cultural and remote project teams

o Demonstrated ability to build relationships with external stakeholders at the local/ regional level

o Preferred: Expertise in a particular industry vertical or payment industry.

Skills and Education:

o Bachelor’s degree required; MBA preferred.

o Strategic mindset with ability to make quick decisions in challenging, ambiguous situations.

o Demonstrated creativity, curiosity and rapid learning on new competitors, technologies, products and ways of marketing

o Creative and agile, with a can-do spirit and start up mindset.

o Superior written and oral communication skills in English

o Motivated self-driver, able to manage complex/multi-geography projects, detail-oriented, with a discipline for priority-setting and follow-through

o Must be results driven, solutions and customer focused.

o Solid understanding of global markets from a language, cultural, regulatory, and infrastructure POV
