Position Summary

The Director of B2B Business Planning provides general support to the Sales, Marketing and overall account team. This support includes various types of projects and data management for both Financial and Business Planning activities (demand planning, supply chain, competitive research, market analysis). Additional responsibilities include interacting with customers and preparing reports on research and analysis findings for senior management and headquarters. The incumbent will work with a number of different groups throughout the organization including, but not limited to, Finance, Marketing, Accounting, Product Management, Sales and Samsung headquarters in Korea.

Role and Responsibilities

Position: Director, B2B Business Planning

The Director of B2B Business Planning provides general support to the Sales, Marketing and overall account team. This support includes various types of projects and data management for both Financial and Business Planning activities (demand planning, supply chain, competitive research, market analysis). Additional responsibilities include interacting with customers and preparing reports on research and analysis findings for senior management and headquarters. The incumbent will work with a number of different groups throughout the organization including, but not limited to, Finance, Marketing, Accounting, Product Management, Sales and Samsung headquarters in Korea.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Run different pricing/promo simulations to recommend optimized investment decisions to maximize revenue and profit. 
  • Lead in activity of continuous improvement for existing and new processes geared to drive higher levels of performance in (CPFR) and (SCM) which will be measured by various SEA and HQ designated KPI’s. 
  • Lead and mentor team of analysts to support risk & opportunity guidance for Sell In and Sell Out.
  • Manage SCM relationship with SEA customers for assigned account as well as manage SCM related issues to resolution.
  • Work closely with HQ and SEA Sales, PM and marketing and align demand appropriately to support the business, while at the same time appropriately managing financial risk taking.
  • Communicate supply schedules internally and externally as required along with issue resolution for shortage recovery.
  • Execute the process of obtaining approval for funding of promotions to drive sell-out.
  • Generate actionable presentations based on data analytics to support recommendations and trends
  • Collaborate with Market Analytics /Product Marketing /Sales & Operations teams towards Management Plan preparation and validation
  • Prepare monthly financial forecast
  • Deep engagement and understanding of Mobile Carrier level promotions and sales
  • Prepares program budgets, and project plans, management, progress, expenditure, and other related reports to identify performance and successful achievement of objectives or variances.

Background/Experience

  • A Bachelor's Degree with 15+ years’ experience preferably in finance, business, or supply chain management; MBA is a plus. 
  • Experience in the telecommunications and/or wireless industry requiring management of finance, logistics, distribution, program management, and/or business planning, or equivalent work experience in planning, finance, or operations.
  • Minimum of 5-7 years of building and managing world class teams
  • Project management experience required and PMP certification preferred.
  • Must have demonstrable experience in developing presentations using a variety of PC applications, including word processing, spreadsheet, and graphic arts software.
  • Accounting firm, Management consulting, or investment banking experience preferred.
  • MBA or Operations Engineering degree with interest/concentration in Supply Chain Management preferred.
  • Experience summarizing and presenting analytical work.
  • Experience leveraging market and industry insights to develop a vison and execution strategy.
  • Experience leading engagements with the business units and external customers.

  • Experience using advanced supply chain management, enterprise planning or financial planning systems (SAP), and CRM (Salesforce) is highly desired. 
  • Proven success in a highly dynamic, deadline-driven environment.
  • Critically evaluate complex problems, provide clear and concise recommendations.
  • Should have advanced MS Excel and MS PowerPoint knowledge and skills. 
  • Demonstrated competency in persuasive communication skills using both oral and written modes for internal and external personnel at all management and staff organizational levels to obtain critical project decisions. 
  • The ability to work either independently or in a team environment to achieve personal and team project goals, including the completion of assignments within and exceeding established time frames.

Physical/Mental Demands and Working Conditions: The position requires the ability to perform the essential duties and responsibilities in the following environment:

  • Work is generally performed in an office environment. Operate a computer keyboard and view a video display terminal between 50% - 95% of work time, including prolonged periods of time.  Requires considerable (90%+) work utilizing high visual acuity/detail, numeric/character distinction, and moderate hand/finger dexterity. 
  • The movement and transportation of equipment, most of the time is under 25 pounds. Performs work under time schedules and stress which are normally periodic or cyclical, including time sensitive deadlines, intellectual challenge, some language barriers, and project management deadlines. Machines, tools, equipment, and work aids include PCs, printers, copiers, faxes, and other equipment commonly associated with an office work area. 
  • May require working additional hours beyond normal schedule.
  • Travel required 25%-30%

• Has expertise in most or all job areas within a job family

• Acts independently to determine methods and procedures on new or special assignments

• Typically requires a minimum 12 years of related experience and a Bachelor's degree, or 10 years and a Master's degree, or a PhD with 7 years experience
