Industry News: Verizon Expands Managed Security

Verizon is enhancing its managed security services portfolio with a new advanced monitoring service.

Verizon's new NetFlow Monitoring service provides analysis of client Netflow data samples from the Verizon IP backbone network. By using automated analysis of suspicious IP communications, the cloud-based service helps clients discover the risk to their organizations by monitoring and analyzing indicators of compromise.

The client-specific data source is correlated with findings from the Verizon Cyber Intelligence Center, which serves as the hub for all threat analytics and intelligence gathering.

Agari to Share Data with Palo Alto Networks

Agari announces an agreement with Palo Alto Networks to provide e-mail-based threat intelligence data to the Palo Alto Networks Threat Intelligence Cloud.

The data will help enhance threat prevention of malware and advanced persistent threats. Once a URL is confirmed as dangerous, the Palo Alto Networks Threat Intelligence Cloud and Next-Generation Firewalls filter and protect its users against the newly discovered threats. Agari will, in turn, be able to query the Palo Alto Networks Threat Intelligence Cloud to identify possible e-mail-based attacks and suspicious or malicious URLs.

Imperva Enhances Firewall Services

Imperva announces ThreatRadar Bot Protection Services, an add-on for the SecureSphere Web Application Firewall.

Using the new service with the SecureSphere WAF, users can quickly identify and protect against malicious bots - a top threat for Web applications. The intelligence it collects during this process is then used by SecureSphere to take immediate action, for example, blocking a bad bot before it can do damage.

Barracuda Networks Offers Integrated Security

Barracuda Networks announces the availability of the Barracuda Security Suite, which provides protection across three common threat vectors - e-mail, Web browsing and network perimeters.

This latest solution is a part of Barracuda's Total Threat Protection initiative, which is aimed at providing protection across multiple threat vectors with simplified management. The suite integrates next-generation network and content security - including individual virtual instances of the Barracuda Firewall, Barracuda Web Filter and Barracuda Spam Firewall - on a single appliance.
