Preview - 2018 Singapore ICS Cyber Security Conference

Fairmont Singapore, Apr. 24-26, 2018

SecurityWeek’s ICS Cyber Security Conference, the premier industrial and critical infrastructure cyber security conference series, returns to Singapore for a three-day event packed with talks from world-renowned experts, unfettered panel discussions, workshops, new research, new technologies, and international networking. The conference takes place on April 24-26 at the Fairmont Singapore.

This unique event will bring together top experts in the field of industrial cyber security to discuss the current landscape, pressing challenges, and ways to overcome them. The conference will address a wide range of topics, including protecting critical infrastructure from emerging cyber threats, assessing and understanding risks to ICS environments, and incident response.

As the largest and longest-running cyber security conference for the industrial control systems sector, the event caters to energy, manufacturing, utility, chemical, transportation, and other industrial and critical infrastructure organizations.

Paul Forney, chief security architect at Schneider Electric, will detail the Triton/Trisis malware, which targeted industrial safety controllers in what the company has described as the first-ever “evil twin” attack. Forney will share information from Schneider’s investigation into the incident and recommendations on how such attacks can be avoided.

Security researchers from Applied Risk will give a talk on vulnerabilities discovered in these types of systems, including weaknesses that can be exploited to take control of devices.

Several end users will be speaking on their experience, pain points, and insights on running cybersecurity programs, including talks from Azmi Hashim, Principal Engineer for Instrument & Control at PETRONAS, and Koh Wan Ching, a System Engineer at Shell.

A breakout session focusing on technology will feature Sergey Gordeychik, deputy CTO at DarkMatter, who will talk about the experience gained during the assessment of various IT components present in electrical grids. In another tech-focused session, Ying Kiat Pang, director of network and software security and Beyond Security Asia, will detail methods for DNP3 protocol fuzzing.

Dr. Marlene Ladendorff, who worked as a cyber security consultant at the Emirates Nuclear Energy Corporation, will share insights on current cybersecurity initiatives aimed at protecting APR1400 nuclear power reactors in the United Arab Emirates.

Attendees will also hear stories about recent ICS cyber security incidents that took place in the APAC region.
