Jan. 24, 2019

Marriott International and Chase Card Services are rebranding their co-branded credit card to a contactless card called the Marriott Bonvoy Boundless Credit Card, which is part of a larger rebranding of the Marriott Rewards loyalty program.

Marriott is replacing its Marriott, Ritz Carlton and Starwood rewards programs under the Marriott Bonvoy loyalty brand starting Feb. 13, according to a press release.

The card will have tap-and-go functionality, which allows users to pay without swiping a magstripe reader and includes EMV technology, which helps reduce fraud.

Among the perks for cardholders will be special merchant offers and the ability to lock and unlock the card through the Chase mobile app.

"The Marriott Bonvoy Boundless Credit Card is packed with perks — including high earn potential, thousands of places to stay under the new Marriott Bonvoy program, ways to get Elite status faster and unique offers — all with a new look, name and easier way to pay with contactless," Leslie Gillin, president, Chase Co-Brand Cards, said in the release.
