BayPay Forum Toronto Hosts “The Future of Banking”

Payment Industry’s Leading Executives to Speak

Redwood Shores, CA, April 16, 2015. BayPay Forum, one of the world’s largest innovation and education networking organizations for the payment and ecommerce industries, today announced the new Toronto chapter will host a speaking and panel event on the future of banking. The presentations will take place on April 23rd from 6PM to 9PM at One King West Hotel & Residence, 1 King Street West in Toronto. The event is being sponsored by Proxama, and features panelists and speakers who will take a closer look at the banking market post Samsung Pay and Apple Pay.

The BayPay Forum sponsors a series of presentations each quarter, on advances in technology or regulation that will generate new business opportunities. "There’s no denying that Samsung Pay and Apple Pay are driving the mobile payments ecosystem forward and transforming the state of play,” comments Daniel Chatelain, Managing Director of the BayPay Forum. “They are creating new challenges and opportunities for issuers.”

Some of the questions that will be addressed in this session include:

·         Where do banks fit into this reformed ecosystem?

·         What do issuers need to do in order to stay on top of this rapidly diversifying landscape?

·         What are some successful use cases to guide key decision-makers, and lessons that have been learned so far?

The event will begin with a presentation by Neil Garner, CEO and founder of Proxama PLC, and will be followed by a keynote from Will Graylin, Global Co-GM at Samsung Pay and CEO at LoopPay. Mr. Graylin has started five companies since obtaining two Masters degrees from MIT. LoopPay, his third mobile payment startup, was acquired by Samsung in February 2015 and now operates as a wholly-owned subsidiary. The prior two were Way Systems (sold to Verifone), and ROAM Data (sold to Ingenico), both were leading mobile POS & mobile payment solutions providers.
