Final Cut Pro 1.2.5 adds support for: the 16:9 widescreen format, which lets users capture, edit, add effects, composite and export video in the widescreen format; native YUV processing, which preserves the color fidelity of original source material; and “make reference movie,” a feature which saves rendering time and preserves valuable disk space by minimizing file sizes and using “pointers” to source files.

The new features of Final Cut Pro 1.2.5 join the strong lineup of enhancements already found in Final Cut Pro 1.2, which include: Power Mac™ G4 Velocity Engine™ optimization; increased rendering speeds; improved batch capture; convenient three-key shuttling; the ability to import Macromedia Flash files; new audio reverb filters and support for PAL, the dominant video and broadcast standard in Europe.

Final Cut Pro 1.2.5 customers can continue to take advantage of the complimentary post-production software included with Final Cut Pro 1.2. Puffin Design's Commotion DV, MAXON Computer's Cinema 4D GO and Terran Interactive's Media Cleaner EZ 4 for QuickTime™ provide users with 3D, paint, added effects, web compression and distribution capabilities.
