Apple and Wolf Camera Team Up to Offer Complete Desktop Video Experience

CUPERTINO, California—May 16, 2000—Apple® today announced it is teaming with Wolf Camera to offer complete desktop video solutions, based on Apple's iMac™ DV, in Wolf Camera stores throughout the United States. iMac DV systems running iMovie™ and the just released Canon ZR-10 camera, will be in 70 Wolf Camera “Digital” stores nationwide providing customers with the opportunity for a hands on desktop video experience. Apple's desktop video solutions will be available for purchase in all 700 Wolf Camera stores throughout the United States.

“With their strong consumer retail presence, we see Wolf Camera as a perfect way to reach consumers with desktop movies,” said Mitch Mandich, Apple's senior vice president of Worldwide Sales. “Consumers can now go to a Wolf Store to get a hands on experience with iMovie, see a range of both DV and digital still cameras working with an iMac and leave the store with a complete desktop video solution.”

“This is a very important alliance for Wolf Camera, and we hope the first of many unique retail opportunities for both companies,” said Peter Liebmann, senior vice president of Merchandising for Wolf Camera. “ The iMac DV Special Edition is the perfect complement to digital photography, and allows us to continue to provide our customers with the very latest in technology.”

iMac DV features Apple's ground breaking iMovie software, which makes it incredibly simple for users to create their own pro-quality home and classroom movies. iMovie uses iMac's built-in FireWire® port to digitally transfer the video from digital camcorders into an iMac. iMovie lets users easily rearrange clips, add special effects like cross-dissolves and scrolling titles, as well as music soundtracks and even sound effects. Users can save their movie on iMac's hard drive, send it back to the camcorder to make copies on digital or VHS videotape, or send the movie to friends and family over the Internet.
