NFC Times Take:

Komerční bank, which is part of the France-based Société Générale group, apparently wants to try out an NFC-enabled add-on for its iPhone users. The iCarte attachment also gives the bank control of the secure element. Banks, credit card companies or other service providers in Australia, Poland, Malaysia, South Korea, Turkey and the U.S. are also trialing the iCarte or putting it on sale. Komerční bank, however, is also trialing mobile payments on full NFC phones, putting its application onto SIM cards issued by mobile operator Telefónica Czech Republic. The bank is participating in a recently launched trial with Telefónica, issuing its Visa payWave application on up to 2,000 SIM cards that run in the NFC-enabled Samsung Galaxy S III.

* Trusted Service Manager: Defined loosely to include companies or other organizations securely distributing, provisioning and managing applications, generally over the air, on secure elements in NFC mobile phones; or licensing their platforms for this purpose.
