5 Tips for Making the Most of Your Holiday Fundraising

givingseason.jpgTemperatures are dropping, the days are getting shorter, and holiday displays have already started to pop up at your favorite stores. Altogether, this can only mean one thing: tis the season for giving!

The final months of the year are always the biggest months when it comes to fundraising and donations, so we at Eventbrite have teamed up with PayPal, one of our trusted partners, to share our top tips on increasing donations during this very giving time of year.

1. Offer open donations

If you’re hosting a holiday fundraiser, be sure to offer a ‘donation-only’ option for people who might not be able to attend. This option is great for folks who might have other commitments during your event but still want to support your cause financially.

2. Placement is key!

Make sure to include details on how to donate and that the donation button is easily found on your website (or eblast so people don’t have to search for it).

3. Be mobile-friendly.

Make sure your event page and website are optimized for mobile so potential donors are able to chip in painlessly -- no pinching and zooming! (If you’re using Eventbrite, you don’t need to think about this, all of our event pages are optimized for mobile.)

4. Think about donation options.

Quite often people who are really passionate about your cause are willing to go above and beyond. In order to make them feel special and thanked, offer tiered donation levels with different incentives, or offer special VIP upgrades for people who donate a certain amount on top of purchasing a ticket.

5. Don’t be afraid to ask.

Don’t hesitate to ask for or provide a suggested giving amount. Regardless of the size of your fundraiser, Eventbrite sees an average donation size of over $71.
