With Amazon as one of the earliest and greatest successes, the next generation of marketplaces are not only selling goods, but also services, experiences and expertise. Etsy, Uber, AirBnB, Upwork, Kickstarter, Vestiaire Collectible, DH Gate, and many others have been very successful in bringing together buyers and sellers with a different spin. The emergence of this new type of business and of the shared-economy movement has created new needs and requirements in terms of payments and very few global solutions exist today to serve the fast growing pace of their domestic and international expansions. In this session, we will bring together speakers with a strong understanding of the challenges faced by this new breed of players and try or isolate the business opportunities hidden behind these challenges. PANELISTS James Esposito Vice President, Treasury, Payments & Risk at Etsy Jim Esposito is a payments professional with twenty plus years of operations, technology, partner management and merchant/e-commerce experience with multiple, billion dollar businesses. Jim is a battle tested executive leader with a level headed, business focused approach to deployment/operation of critical payment systems and high touch management of payment partnerships. As a strategic thinker, direct communicator and cross collaborator, Jim has built and led high performing teams through significant product launches, major partner outages, program transitions and security breaches. Spanning both the technology and payments industries, Jim's career has included stops in high profile companies including Square, Subway Restaurants and Nortel Networks. Jim has a strong connection to the merchant community including a term as a Board Member of the Merchant Advisory Group. Currently, Jim is the Senior Director of Payments as well as the Treasurer of Etsy, Inc. At Etsy, Jim leads an organization managing Payments, Risk Operations and Treasury that powers Etsy's global marketplace of 26+ million Buyers and 1.7 million Sellers. Jim resides in New York City with his wife - Susana - and two daughters - Paola and Valentina.  Christopher Cosentino Product Director at Shutterstock A proven product leader, Chris has led complex product development efforts and teams across many roles and companies. Currently a Product Director at Shutterstock, Chris oversees much of the core e-commerce product experience which includes the critical strategies for the Shutterstock marketplace payments lifecycle. This includes both payments capabilities and seller-side payout and content licensing functions. Prior to this Chris was a product leader at Etsy where he helped oversee product strategy in building Etsy’s marketplace payments platform from scratch. This platform has grown to support sellers in 36 countries and 12 currencies and offer buyers many ways to pay for their goods. Chris has managed many cross-functional teams and has hired, mentored and developed many successful product managers. Chris believes that great products exist at the intersection of great ideas, intuitive design, great attention to detail, and technical excellence.  Mike Dudas Co-Founder and Chief Revenue Officer at Button Mike Dudas is co-founder and Chief Revenue Officer of Button, which enables smart connections between mobile services that drive installs, increase engagement and facilitate mobile commerce. Mike is a builder of mobile commerce businesses, having worked at Google, Braintree/Venmo and PayPal to conceive & grow payments, loyalty and ads/offers products from scratch to scale. Mike helped launch Google Wallet and sign anchor partners Walgreens, Subway and CVS. He then helped grow Braintree/Venmo's mobile volume at partners like Uber, Airbnb, OpenTable and HotelTonight to a $4B annual run rate leading to a sale to PayPal. Early in his career, Mike worked in corporate M&A and strategy for Disney and MTV. Mike earned a BA from Stanford and an MBA from Kellogg.  Andy Kaplan CFO at DonorsChoose.org Andy joined the team in 2006. Before joining DonorsChoose.org, Andy worked at Audible, Inc. (now an Amazon company) as Chief Financial Officer and served on its board of directors. Earlier in his career at Time Warner, he served in various positions in the US and Europe, including Director of European Operations and Chief Financial Officer of Time Life. Prior to that, he was with Ernst & Young LLP. Andy is a Certified Public Accountant, and holds a B.S. from Florida State University and an MBA from Harvard Business School. He serves on the board of directors of the Westport Arts Center and Harvard Business School Community Partners of Connecticut.
 MODERATOR Daniel Chatelain Managing Director at The BayPay Forum Daniel Chatelain is a payment industry executive focused on innovation in commerce and sitting on the board of directors or advisors of emerging companies. He started The BayPay Forum to help foster innovation in payment and commerce. The organization gathers today over 8,000 executives from over 2,800 different companies and organizes events for senior executives to understand new trends and network with peers. Prior to that, Daniel was CEO, President & COO of companies he started as an entrepreneur or within the Lagardere (Elle, Woman’s Day, Car & Driver, Hachette, Canal Satellite) and EADS group (Airbus, Ariane, Eurocopter) and Vice President of a VC backed companies giving him a wide experience of growing companies domestically and internationally in the banking, telecom and interactive media industries as an entrepreneur, corporate or VC backed senior executive.
