Defense management startup Interpres Security on Thursday announced that it has emerged from stealth mode with $8.5 million in a seed funding round led by Ten Eleven Ventures and a solution designed to help companies optimize security performance.

The Charleston-based firm proposes a new approach to managing the defense surface, offering a continuous, customized analysis of detection and mitigation capabilities, to help organizations improve their security posture.

The company provides tailored mitigation, data collection, and detection recommendations based on which attackers are most likely to target an organization, the prevalence of the attacks, and the malware and techniques used.

Interpres Security says it can optimize the cybersecurity solutions that an organization already uses, delivering the necessary information in a single dashboard that can also detect misconfigurations, coverage gaps, and changes to risk posture.

“Automation and threat-informed prioritization are necessary to properly assess, configure, optimize and align current security tools to optimally defend against advanced threats in a timely manner,” Interpres Security CEO and co-founder Nick Lantuh said.
