PayPal, Mastercard add C-suite hires

Payments firms are loading up on new C-suite hires this year as some in the industry build out new management teams

The new hires come as some companies, have added new CEOs who are building out their C-suites with new top executives. At PayPal, CEO Alex Chriss has been in the process of hiring those colleagues in recent months, adding a new chief financial officer and chief people officer.

Other companies building management teams under new CEOs brought on since last year include Visa and Zelle parent Early Warning Services.

At Purchase, New York-based Mastercard, there isn’t a new CEO, but the company’s management, led by CEO Michael Miebach, is bolstering its management team in a new direction with Huntsman’s expertise in government relations. That addition comes as U.S. lawmakers and regulators are reviewing a host of issues with regard to the payments arena, and card networks in particular.

In the case of SignaPay, the company is bringing on board an executive with two decades of payments experience, as well as an expertise in software.
