The U.S. Retail Bank has $150B in Deposits, $6B in Loans, over 8,000 employees and close to 700 retail branches. The U.S. Retail Bank consists of Retail Banking, Small Business, Personal Wealth Management and International Personal Bank (“IPB”) segments.

The U.S. Retail Bank Finance group supports the U.S. Retail Bank product, segment and branch distribution teams by providing best-in-class analytical insight.  The team provides U.S. Retail Bank leadership with an accurate and timely view of its current financial position and prepares forward-looking forecasts.  The Finance team manages the budget and business investment processes, performs competitive position analysis and advises executive leadership on key business decisions.

Responsibilities of this position include:

  • Support the U.S. Retail Bank business development effort from a finance perspective

    • Carefully assess the economic consequences of tactical and strategic initiatives directed toward U.S. Retail / U.S. Consumer customers

    • Diligence opportunity, contribute to structuring of offering and evaluate the returns adequacy of current and prospective initiatives

    • Engage directly and frequently with senior business leadership in the context of business development opportunities, provide objective insight and originate proprietary ideas where appropriate

Qualifications

  • Undergraduate experience in finance or accounting and 3+ years of work experience in an analytical role (investment banking, management consulting preferred)

  • Strong Excel / PowerPoint knowledge required; SQL and Access knowledge a plus

  • Excellent quantitative and analytical skills required, particularly in the context of assessing the practical and economic merit of an idea

  • Ability to quickly distill key elements of a decision and arrive at macro-level conclusions, particularly around returns adequacy and identification of key economic drivers

  • Ability to create and manage complex financial models and present results to business and finance leadership

  • Strong communication skills, both written and oral

  • Must be efficient, organized and highly motivated

  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and as a part of a broader team
