Retail Sales Supervisor – Greater DC Area

Sony Electronics has an exciting full time opportunity for a Brand Representative in the Greater DC Area area.  If you love entertainment technology, have great retail experience and love to talk to a wide variety of audiences, then we want to hear from you! This role will focus on locations in and around the Greater DC Area.

We are seeking a highly skilled professional capable of creating a positive environment for Sony products at retail.  You are someone who can build rapport with different audiences and create Sony advocacy first and foremost. You are also someone that maximizes product sales by supporting a group of retail locations with interactive installations/maintenance, product education, display installation/maintenance, and data collection as well as others as needed.  You love training and educating both associates and customers.  You love entertainment technology, and bringing the Sony Experience to your community.  

The ideal candidate will live within or near The Greater DC Area.

Responsibilities

  • Developing and maintaining beneficial retail relationships.
  • Creating and maintaining in-store advocacy for the brand.
  • Analyzing daily/weekly sales data to plan and execute sales improvements.
  • Educating store personnel on Sony and how to sell the Sony product line effectively.
  • Coach and support vendor provided and third party in-store labor.
  • Supporting retail sales through creative merchandising presentation, visual displays and in store promotions, including Point of Purchase (POP) materials.
  • Monitoring product inventory and ensuring product is placed on the selling floor.
  • Resetting, maintaining and installing different product displays and interactive display kiosks.
  • Conducting consumer demonstration and directly assisting consumers as needed by answering their questions and providing solutions.
  • Gathering, summarizing, and reporting on field and channel feedback and insights

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in a related field
  • Proven and successful track record in sales, retail, or merchandising environment
  • Previous experience supervising/managing a team is preferred
  • Willingness to learn new and exciting features and technologies and the ability to simplify and teach a message to others including consumers
  • Must be able to work weekends/nights for launch events, sales events and training events. This may include events such as CES, CEDIA, etc. and may also include training events outside store hours.
  • Visual merchandising experience a plus
  • Sales focused with the ability to influence others to execute your strategies
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills needed with the ability to build strong collaborative relationships and engage with all levels of store and market personnel
  • Strong decision-making skills with the ability to solve problems creatively, effectively, efficiently and at times individually
  • Willingness to take ownership in your business and learn, plan, or implement what is required to succeed
  • Must live in a central location within the territory
  • Able to lift 25+ lbs.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and oral.
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills, especially in Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
