Finance Manager – Global Logistics

The Device Finance team supports a broad business scope including Surface, Surface Accessories, Xbox, Xbox Accessories, Surface Hub, Hololens, and PC peripherals. The environment is dynamic and innovative, where the finance team partners with Operations and Business Teams.

The Device Finance team is looking for someone with drive and enthusiasm to take on a high impact role as a Finance Manager to serve as the primary Finance partner for the Fulfillment and Logistics team with the focus on Global Freight in logistics costs. The Fulfillment and Logistics Team is responsible for, among other things, freight rates, logistics modes, end of life planning for hardware products, and decisions/trade-offs associated with supply network design changes. In this role, the Finance Manager will partner closely with the Fulfillment and Logistics team to achieve superior financial results and run the F&L review process. 

Responsibilities

  • Drive the right financial decisions to be made during the Logistics reviews
  • Creation of meaningful financial metrics to gauge the financial effectiveness of decisions and actions.
  • Development an execution of financial modeling methodologies to measure true cost of inventory and drive optimal repair plan/inventory decisions.
  • Advise senior management on financial impact of various alternatives and recommend preferred course of action
  • Support creation of freight cost assumptions used in budget, forecasts, target setting, etc.

Qualifications

  • 4+ years of financial analysis experience in a similar supply chain
  • Deep finance analytical experience 
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Math, Business Administration or similar discipline.  MBA/CPA preferred.
  • Conceptual understanding of how a hardware supply chain functions and ability to articulate application of financial principles to this business space.
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively translate financial analysis and insights into meaningful and actionable business communications and recommendations
  • Ability to think strategically and communicate effectively with all levels of management, with the capability to guide, educate and influence the thinking of senior decision makers.
  • Ability to effectively manage multiple projects, have excellent attention to detail, and work effectively under deadlines.
  • Ability to achieve results both through individual and cross team efforts, show a propensity for learning, and demonstrate the ability to identify, analyze, interpret, and deliver sound solutions
  • Familiarity with MS Finance Tools and processes a definite plus
