Job Overview

The Associate will be a key player in the execution of Citi’s Investment Banking business within the Diversified Industrials sector. The individual will leverage past investment banking or related experience to enhance M&A execution and capital raising capabilities and contribute to building Citi’s franchise. The individual will have strong functional skills in major areas of investment banking and will demonstrate the ability to become a seasoned Banker capable of generating and executing his/her own transactions. 

 

Responsibilities:

  • Lead structuring and execution of transactions, while assisting senior bankers with origination of new business.

    • Ensure that proposed client solutions meet or exceed internal risk and return standards, including stringent ethical standards.

    • Effectively manage Analysts, delegating and reviewing their work as well as creating a culture of collaboration in the team.

    • Build credibility and establish trust with clients by identifying client needs and proactively providing strategic solutions on mergers and acquisitions, corporate finance issues, capital raising (issuance of equity and debt securities), risk management and other financial issues.

Qualifications:

  • Must have 3+ years of experience in the financial services industry, ideally within Diversified Industrials Investment Banking

    • Experience with large corporate clients, capital raising and M&A transactions

    • Strong credit, negotiations, communications, analytical and organizational skills

    • Strong work ethic, high energy level, able to work independently and think strategically

Qualifications

Degrees:

 

•Bachelor’s degree in Finance or closely related areas of Business Administration

•Master's degree in Business Administration; or alternatively 4+ years in Analyst and Associate role at prior investment banking institution.
