Shake Shack rolls out redesigned app, plans Apple Pay and Venmo integration

Dec. 4, 2018

Shake Shack announced the launch of its redesigned mobile app, which will allow customers across the country to place faster mobile orders for their food and drinks, and support integrated Venmo and Apple Pay after a pilot program.

The Venmo and Apple Pay integration will be tested and rolled out in 2019, according to a press release. The company, which opened its first location in Madison Square Park in Manhattan, now has more than 200 locations in the U.S. and 70 around the world.

The launch follows a 10-city pilot program where customers used the enhanced mobile app to skip the line and pick up their orders. The newly redesigned app allows guests to complete the ordering process using fewer screens, and speeds the overall ordering process by up to 50 percent.

The app will also include special mobile only messaging, providing exclusive menu items, special offers and unique local offers, according to the company.

Shake Shack developed the redesigned app in collaboration with development agency Fuzz and mobile ordering platform Olo.
