Docomo Digital has named Chief Transformation Officer Jonathan Kriegel as CEO starting April 1, according to a press release.
He will replace CEO Hiroyuki Sato, who will return to NTT Docomo and work with the parent company to develop new business.
Kriegel joined Docomo Digital in July 2018 to drive digital transformation in the payments area and previously worked as CEO of Docomo Pacific, based in Guam.
"With the proliferation of connected devices and advent of 5G, mobile commerce will continue to grow exponentially, and this presents tremendous opportunities for Docomo digital as emerging markets catch up quickly with more mature ones," Kriegel said in the release.
London-based Docomo Digital is one of the world’s largest payments integrators, providing direct carrier billing and other payment methods across multiple businesses from gaming, vehicle parking, mobile ticketing and other businesses.
