Feb. 12, 2019

Bill.com, a Palo Alto, California-based digital payments firm, will open a 25,000-square-foot location in Houston by spring, marking the company's expansion outside of the Bay Area.

Bill.com said the offices will be in Houston’s Westchase district and plans to hire a team of developers and customer support professionals, according to a spokesperson. Bill.com will hire about 125 workers over the next three years, but have room to add more in the future, according to she added.

"We've been working hard over the last couple of years to develop our community as a hub for digital tech and the Bill.com expansion here is a validation and confirmation that we’ve made great efforts," Susan Davenport, chief economic development officer of the Greater Houston Partnership, said in the release.

Bill.com said it will participate in Station Startup Gigs, which is a local marketplace for tech industry hiring in Houston.

The company earlier this month announced a program with American Express to offer virtual payments for small businesses.
