The BayPay Forum makes its BayPayBot, a Facebook Messenger Chatbot, available to all its members

Woodside CA - March 21, 2017 -  The BayPay Forum is releasing its first version of BayPayBot, a Chatbot based on Facebook Messenger developed by its BayPay Labs, to provide a more conversational experience to its members when they look for BayPay events and want to buy tickets to events.

As consumer behavior is shifting from web to mobile app to messaging, the BayPay Forum decided to skip the mobile app phase to go directly to messaging as a way to better interact with its 14,000+ members and customers.

BayPayBot nicely complements its event and community management platform that integrates content publishing per member level, event management, event registration, tickets auction, CRM, email marketing management, integrated payment system for BayPay events or memberships, discounts management, landing page tracking, etc. BayPayBot allows for faster navigation through BayPay’s numerous events and allows the payment without leaving Facebook Messenger.

BayPayBot is fully integrated with the BayPay CRM which allows for price display of an event based on the membership level of the member or other rules managed by the CRM server itself in real time.

The BayPay Forum will continue adding more features to BayPayBot and will expand to more messaging platforms like Skype, Telegram, Wechat, depending on the initial feedback of its members.

"We looked at mobile apps and Buy buttons but decided to not become one more dead app in the graveyard of apps that most people still have on their phones. Buy buttons look good from a merchant perspective but it is a one-sided view of commerce." said Daniel Chatelain, Managing Director of the BayPay Forum. "We believe that conversational commerce and chatbots are a more balanced way to go and having BayPayBot available now for the general public will allow us to learn and continue improving the user experience for our members."

BayPayBot was developed in partnership with Ingenico Lab, in charge of innovation for Ingenico Group and Ingenico ePayments, the online and mobile commerce division, It is the first chatbot in production using Ingenico Connect. It can accept only Visa and Mastercard cards for now but more payment methods will be added later leveraging the broad choices of the Ingenico platform. No card number is stored by BayPay nor Facebook outside of the payment system managed by Ingenico providing peace of mind to BayPay against data breaches to access this information and making repeat transactions even faster for BayPay members.

“At Ingenico, we believe that social commerce is definitely a trend to look at. And we are convinced that adding payment directly into messaging bots will remove friction from conversational commerce while boosting conversion.” said Pierre-Antoine Vacheron, ePayments EVP of Ingenico Group. ”We are pleased with this first live production for our long-standing partner BayPay Forum, allowing their customers to benefit from an innovative and seamless payment experience.”

BayPayBot is available to everyone interested in understanding the new trends in payments and commerce, member and non-member.
