Applications for the Spring 2014 SixThirty Accelerator Program are now open and will be accepted through Friday, February 7th, 2014. Unlike other accelerators, SixThirty is an accelerator with real industry access. One of the largest financial services hubs outside of New York, St. Louis is home to Edward Jones, Scottrade, Stifel Nicolaus, Wells Fargo Advisors (among others), and boasts one of the most dynamic, explosive startup scenes in the country. Accepted startups gain access to key stakeholders and decision makers within the St. Louis financial community. Jim McKelvey, co-founder of e-payments company, Square, leads the SixThirty leadership team and serves as the program’s Managing Director. Launched in August of 2013, SixThirty’s first class of companies included financial technologies startupsfrom New York, San Francisco, and the UK. They included:
Hedgeable: a next generation Vanguard, providing low cost, risk managed investment products in response to the financial crisis.
miiCard: which leverages access to online financial accounts to verify an individual’s identity beyond a photo ID.
Upside: which uses innovative financial science and a beautiful UI to provide goal-based investment management to mass affluent young professionals.
XYverify: a location technology that enables consumers, merchants and financial institutions to reduce costs and prevent fraud via a mobile authentication platform.

SixThirty provides fintech startups with $100K in funding and connections to the top financial services companies in the country. Backed by the St. Louis Regional Chamber and venture capital firm Cultivation Capital, SixThirty invests in eight financial-based technology startup companies each year, four in the fall, and four in the spring. Those companies selected to take part in the accelerator program will receive hands-on mentoring and networking opportunities with the top financial services companies in the country.
