Masabi teams with Jorudan on mobile ticketing for Japanese bus service

Masabi Jorudan mobile ticketing app

Masabi, a provider of mobile ticketing and payment for public transit, has entered an agreement with Jorudan, a Japanese trip planning service, to provide mobile ticketing capability within the Jorudan app, according to a company release.

The agreement will allow more than 10 million Jorudan customers throughout Japan to buy tickets on the Syoei Express Bus directly through Jorudan's Norikae Annai app, officials said. Additional transportation companies will soon be added to the partnership.

Jorudan uses the Justride External Orders API to transmit reservations and ticket information located within the Norikae Annai app to Masabi's JustRide SDK. Passengers using a secure digital wallet are in turn sent a visual and bar coded mobile ticket.

The bus service connects from the Tokyo area, which also includes Shinjuki and Ikebukuro and the city of Nagano, including stops in Karuizawa.
