How & what was Login Conference 2012 about ?

September 26-27, at Bentley Reserve Login Conference 2012 was hosted for gamers, developers, innovators & investors.  Login Conference 2012 was about #Gamification. What are games ? How are games changing how merchants sell, how consumers buy, types of digital currency and games are helping create loyalty for online and offline purchases. History about games, evolution of games, how console games evolved, how consoles got smarter, how consumers got smarter and how innovation in mobile phones is drawing a thin line for console based games.

Stage was set with experts who designed games, gave birth to gaming startups, and who invested in them. It was observed during the whole day discussions touched various concerns and future aspects of online & mobile games. Few of the concern points were:

1) Will the 8th generation of consoles will see decline because of mobile

2) How to create a effective gaming experience

3) How to maintain consumer engagement and keep the users coming back and playing the

There were some interesting discussion and questions around chronology v/s technology. Overall all said the pace at which it is going is super fast. It is like we have been witnessing how physical books are going digital. It would be interesting to see how technology is going to help users to switch devices from different time of the day& different location.

Discussion also highlighted that Asia is a big market and those emerging nations cannot afford buying new consoles, so we foresee consoles will be dead soon. Consoles innovation and go to market has been overall slow because it takes time to innovate, manufacture and ship it. While in mobile innovation has been considerably faster than consoles.

Overall conference day one was good & it was all about games, monetization of games, consolidation in digital micro-payments, gaming on different devices, & how gamification would lead to loyalty & payments.
