DESCRIPTION

Crowdfunding is the practice of funding a project or venture by raising monetary contributions from a large number of people. Crowdfunding is a form of crowdsourcing and of alternative finance. In 2015, it was estimated that worldwide over US$34 billion was raised this way.

Accelerated by changes of regulation in the US and Europe, crowdfunding has taken many different forms like the funding of product development by consumers on platforms like Kickstarter or Indiegogo, the aggregation of accredited investors on platforms like microventures and circle or the emergence of white label technology solutions that allow the faster deployment of this model of funding.

Pebble, the famous watch manufacturer that raised its money on kickstarter and that excited thousands of consumers into giving tens of millions of dollars, was acquired recently by Fitbit for $34m, well below what they raised on kickstarter. This is beginning to show the limitation of the model in the long run for technology companies that require more capital to stay sustainable.

This special third Khube Innovation Series (KIS) event, jointly organised with the BayPay Forum, will be dedicated to compare notes between a selection of experts in the funding space that for the first time will be able to speak from different parts of the world.

Some of our speakers will be located in Luxembourg at KPMG while our moderator, Daniel Chatelain, will be with other American experts on the same virtual panel.

The whole event will be also Live Streamed to allow more people to learn from our speakers and to ask questions also remotely.

We hope you can make it to this event and feel free to spread the word.

This event is FREE for Business Members. (free Live Streaming for Online Members)
