This workshop focuses on the importance of emotional intelligence in communication. It breaks down the difference between IQ communication tools and emotional intelligence communication tools and offers participants easy ways to enhance their emotional intelligence. It looks at the important role of delivery skills when the content is data and information heavy. It offers simple emotional intelligence strategies to incentivize that content, make it more memorable and actionable. It also discusses the role of personal perspective and offers tools to personalize your communication style. This workshop is interactive with a lecture component, small group exercises and time for feedback.Using Emotional Intelligence to Incentivize Data

SPEAKER:

Fonta is an interpersonal communication teacher and the owner of Eloquence, a soft skill training company here in San Francisco. Her work covers all aspects of verbal and nonverbal communication - body language, voice, speech, content treatment, listening skills and reducing nervousness. Her training helps people feel confident about how they self-represent out into the world, ensuring that they develop both their logical (IQ) and emotional communication (EQ) ability equally. In addition to teaching leaders how to manage, mentor and "grow people", she also teaches high stakes self representation skills such as public speaking, media training, negotiation and diplomacy skills. Her research looks at pre and post-smartphone communication and the impact that personal devices are having on our interpersonal ability.
