DESCRIPTION

 

An opportunity to create a conversation between established companies and startups to find ways to work together. By leveraging the scale of the established companies, startups can quickly gain traction and credibility to grow quickly. When blending the nimble approaches of startups established companies can innovate without long lead times and expensive experiments. Together both sides of the business community can benefit from the strength of the other - instead of viewing each other as adversaries.

This event presents an opportunity for to change the dialogue from incumbent vs. insurgents to big and small working together

 

Parking details:

Kinecta has two corporate buildings.

BayPay Event will take place at: 2100 Park Place El Segundo, CA 90245

Parking will be available for FREE at the main building: 1440 Rosecrans Ave Manhattan Beach, CA 90266

The buildings are across the street from each other but they lie in 2 separate cities:

• The city line lies between the two buildings

• There is plenty of free parking in an open parking lot at the main building

Payments Innovation at City National Bank

 

 

Simon Jaud manages payments innovation and debit cards for City National Bank, where he built an innovation program based on the precepts of design thinking. His current areas of interest are real-time payments, non-currency applications of the blockchain, and contextual applications. He holds a Ph.D. in Computational Chemistry from UC Irvine and, because spending six years in grad school was not long enough, he also has an MBA from UCLA Anderson.

Inez Murata

Senior Director of the Program Management Office (PMO) at PacSun

 

Inez is the Senior Director of the Program Management Office (PMO) at PacSun with over 18 years of experience in Digital Retail and Omnichannel technology. She is currently leading the Omnichannel strategy and roadmap at Pacsun and the technology solutions that she leads help drive customer acquisition, retention and conversion across both the online and brick-and-mortar channels. These solutions focus on customer experience and evolving the Pacsun brand. Inez previously spent 15 years at Deloitte Digital, a digital division of Deloitte Consulting. She led large-scale multi-million dollar engagements designed to grow the Direct to Consumer channels for her clients. Clients include Wal-Mart, TOMS, eBay, Nestle and Disney in building their online digital strategy and capabilities across eCommerce, Mobile and social platforms.

Inez is a graduate of the University of Southern California and holds a B.S. degree in both Accounting and Business Administration (Information Systems).

Ashish Kurani

Senior Vice President, Strategic Partnerships at Wells Fargo 

 

 

Ashish has consistently been on the cutting edge of innovation in the Internet and mobile industry for over 20 years. Through his experience in management consulting, Internet startups and as an executive for Wells Fargo, Ashish has developed the unique ability to formulate a strategic vision and then lead a team to a successful rollout.

Ashish is a Senior Vice President in Wells Fargo's Strategic Partnerships group, received his BA in Economics and Political Science from the University of California, Davis and his MBA from the University of Southern California.

Vice President, Strategic Development and M&A at Mattel, Inc.

 

Henry Hsiao is the Vice President, Strategic Development and M&A, for Mattel, Inc. In his current role, he is responsible for developing strategic partnerships, platforms, and products for the company’s portfolio of brands. His responsibilities include identifying opportunities that leverage new technologies and business models through the innovation, venture capital, and startup communities – where he also serves in advisor and mentor roles.

Previously, Henry led the digital transformation for Mattel where he was responsible for managing the global digital capabilities and infrastructure to grow the company with new technologies and platforms. Prior to Mattel, he served in business and technology leadership roles at DirecTV Inc. and Deloitte Consulting.

He holds a MBA with an emphasis on strategy, technology, and emerging markets from Haas School of Business at University of California Berkeley and Columbia Business School and a BS in Computer Science from University of California Los Angeles.

Willis Chang

Vice President, Innovation and Application Delivery at Kinecta Federal Credit Union

 

Willis Chang is responsible for application development and integration at Kinecta, along with the imaging and workflow of documents. Solving business problems with technology solutions has also led to his role with organic innovation and business strategy within the credit union. Willis holds a B.S. in Business Administration (Management and Information Systems) from the University of Southern California.

Willis started as an application developer at Kinecta almost 15 years ago, building out a home-grown Online Banking system with one other developer (and the entire front-and-back-end components for the entire Bill Payment system). His prior experience includes freelance site development, technology consulting for Sapient, and unpaid employment at a financial startup for over a year.
