DESCRIPTION

It’s been just over five years since the introduction of the term “Internet of Things” (IoT), and it’s impossible to dismiss the pace of adoption, acceleration, and impact that it’s having across all industries. Analysts are forecasting that there will be 25 billion connected things by 2020—three for every person on the planet.

There are dozens of explanations and assumptions on how and when it all started, with many believing that this revolution began in 2010 when the number of connected things exceeded the number of people on the planet. The Internet of things is probably the most talked about, yet misunderstood technological shift of our time.

Join Steve Latham, founder and CEO of Banyan Hills Technologies to learn about the building blocks of IoT and understand who’s really doing IoT, and how it is enabling a connected planet. Cloud, commerce, security, storage, and sensors all play a role in the transformation of data from the physical things in our world to more useful information.

Steve Latham

Founder and CEO at Banyan Hills Technologies

Our daily lives have been made better because of software and the Internet and I’m getting out in front with technologies that will transform everything for the better. Having held various strategic technology leadership roles over the past 15 years, I’ve been recognized by leaders whom I admire greatly as an expert in leveraging cloud-based technologies to optimize and accelerate the needs of business. I serve on the board of directors for various companies across different industries providing technology leadership and guidance. I thrive on partnering with business leaders to build innovative solutions through the responsible implementation of cutting edge technology.

Everything I’ve done in the past has led me to build a company focused on the Internet of Things (IoT). This is the next great technology era of our time. IoT innovations are already coming to market and changing the world. Banyan Hills Technologies is impacting the world through our technology IQ and our commitment to social responsibility. We want to connect ‘everything,’ because we love to build software and make businesses and the world better through technology.
