The hype around mobile payments continues to grow, even as usage remains flat and consumers and merchants continue to use their trusty debit and credit cards. What will it take for this industry to truly gain traction, who will be the winners and how should consumers and merchants navigate this ever-changing space? Join us as we discuss these topics, along with other key considerations such as security, the evolution to EMV and loyalty program implications.

Ginger Schmeltzer is a seasoned payments professional and recognized digital banking and mobile expert with significant experience providing strategic planning and analysis to the global banking and payments industry. Ginger’s expertise includes facilitating the delivery of new payment services in a rapidly evolving mobile payments market, mobile capture capabilities and bill pay and P2P transfers. Ginger currently is founder and principal at consulting firm GDS Advisors, LLC.

Prior to forming her own firm, Schmeltzer was the Senior Vice President of Emerging Payments at Fiserv, Inc., where she led development and execution of enterprise-wide initiatives to facilitate the delivery of new payment services. Schmeltzer also served as Senior Vice President of Digital Channel Management at SunTrust Bank where she oversaw online banking, mobile banking and digital money movement technologies. During her time at the bank, Schmeltzer also developed and executed strategies for mobile financial services, person-to-person payments and electronic billing and payment.

She is a frequent speaker at banking and payments industry conferences, has been widely quoted in the industry press including the American Banker, Bank Systems & Technology, The Financial Brand, CU Times and the New York Times. Schmeltzer was named one of the Most Influential Women in Payments in both 2013 and 2014.

Schmeltzer holds Bachelor of Arts degrees in international business and Spanish from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University. She also holds an MBA from Emory University’s Goizueta Business School.

Jarrod Redden

Emerging Digital and Social Trends, Chick-fil-A

Jarrod Redden is the Senior Team Lead of Emerging Digital and Social Trends at Chick-fil-A. He leads the emerging technologies, digital payments, and hospitality technology services areas. His first project with Chick-fil-A was the rollout of credit card acceptance to all Chick-fil-A restaurants. Since then, he has designed and deployed white label gift card, mobile payment, and remote ordering solutions. Jarrod consults on Marketing and IT initiatives focused on the customer experience. This work includes design and strategy planning for current and future technology projects pertaining to ordering, payment, menu presentation, and mobile initiatives. His passion is to design technology solutions that enhance the customer experience.

Sanjay Subramanian

VP Technology & Architecture, IT at InComm

Sanjay Subramanian is VP Technology & Architecture, IT at InComm, and is responsible for the technology, architecture and solution direction for Financial Services IT. Sanjay has been active in Information Technology for over 30 years, focusing on payments for the past fifteen years. Having designed and built solutions for acquirers and issuers, Sanjay is now working on innovative solutions for InComm encompassing mobile payments, EMV and other related technologies. Sanjay is passionate about technology and is looking forward to a world where payment using a mobile device is convenient, secure and ubiquitous.

Chris Poelma

From mobile software founder to CTO of Microsoft’s Operator Channel, Chris Poelma has spent nearly three decades developing innovative, high-growth businesses in the technology industry.

In April 2015, Chris joined NCR Corporation as President and General Manager of NCR Small Business. Chris oversees a very talented and ambitious team to drive business model innovation targeted at small business owners. NCR Silver, a cloud-based POS platform, is NCR Small Business’ newest solution designed to help small merchants manage and grow their businesses. Chris is accelerating the pace and execution of strategic partnerships, marketing, sales, and engineering to establish NCR Silver as the premier technology partner for small businesses.

Prior to joining NCR Small Business, Chris founded QwikCart®, an innovative mobile software company which provides businesses and consumers access to powerful retailing, transportation and entertainment solutions. Before QwikCart, Chris co-founded, served as CTO, and assisted in an Initial Public Offering (IPO) with USInternetworking, now AT&T Enterprise Application Services. He has led five startup software companies to successful liquidity events as CEO including ControlPath, Comprehensive Software Systems (CSS), and Magellan Network. Additionally Chris has worked as an executive within industry notables Microsoft, Sun Microsystems and EDS. Over the course of his career, Chris has closed over $70 Million in private equity.

Chris holds a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science from the University of Wyoming. He resides in Atlanta and is an avid cyclist.

Jimmy Patel

Co–Founder at Split

Jimmy Patel is Co-founder and CEO of Split, a behavior-focused customer relationship management platform with a payment application aimed at revolutionizing the restaurant industry. Prior to Split, he held various roles at a Fortune 100 company and was responsible for overseeing technical and business aspects for multi-million dollar projects. Jimmy graduated from Georgia Tech with an MBA and B.S. in Computer Engineering.
