Compliance Director at Lending Club

 

Jerry serves as the compliance thought leader who heads the compliance organization at Lending Club. Which comprises of the Personal Loans, Small Business, Auto refinance, Patient finance, Education finance, Investor compliance and Lending Club Advisors (LCA) for the borrower and investor compliance functions. He has over 17 years of experience in the financial services industry developing, implementing, and executing on all facets of the compliance management system. He obtained his MBA from Texas A&M University and his B.A. from Occidental College. He holds the following designations CRCM, CIPP/US and CAMS.

VP at Core Innovation Capital

 

Alex is an investor with Core Innovation Capital, a fintech-focused venture capital fund. His career spans financial services and technology, as an investor and an operator. Alex co-founded two companies, Intellitoys (an interactive children’s toy) and SkillSlate (a labor marketplace that was acquired by TaskRabbit). He spent six years in financial services, working to scale a wealth manager and informing trading strategies for Bridgewater Associates. Alex earned a computer science degree and an MBA from Columbia University.

Compliance Risk Manager at LendUp

Swati Karandikar serves as a Compliance Risk Manager at LendUp where she supports the development and execution of the compliance function. Prior to joining LendUp in April 2016, Swati worked at Promontory and assisted financial institutions over $10 billion in assets develop and execute consumer compliance program that met Consumer Financial Protection Bureau's (CFPB) expectations.

Before Promontory, Swati worked at the Office of Fair Lending and Equal Opportunity at the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau as a policy analyst. Swati oversaw the design and implementation of Office of Fair Lending's risk prioritization process. Additionally, Swati conducted research analysis and advised on auto lending and HMDA-related matters. Prior to joining the CFPB, Swati served as an AmeriCorps*VISTA Leader and an AmeriCorps*VISTA for NeighborWorks America. As an AmeriCorps volunteer, Swati worked on financial capabilities and foreclosure mitigation efforts. Swati received a Bachelors of Science in Economics from University of Wisconsin - Madison in 2009.

Founder and CEO at LENDonate

 

Vivienne’s vision at LENDonate is to create a new ecosystem for nonprofit finances. This idea was a culmination of her 20+ years of experience as an investment professional and a seasoned nonprofit fundraiser.

Vivienne Hsu is founder and CEO of LENDonate, a unique marketplace lending and donation sourcing platform where nonprofits and supporters leverage their collective power for the greater good. With over 20 years of financial services experience and considered an expert in her field, she has appeared in numerous interviews on CNBC and Bloomberg TV and is frequently quoted in national publications, including The Wall Street Journal and Kiplinger. Most importantly, she has always been passionate about strategic philanthropy and sustainable investment.

Prior to being a social entrepreneur, Vivienne was Senior Vice President at U.S. Trust where she advised on complex financial matters. She served as a Vice President, Senior Portfolio Manager for Charles Schwab Investment Management where she oversaw its active equity strategies and was the lead portfolio manager for the Schwab Hedged Equity Fund. Under her leadership, the firm launched three new funds which garnered close to $500 million at launch. Prior to that, she was Vice President and Portfolio Manager at American Century Investments where she co-managed mutual funds that totaled more than $10 billion. Rounding out her experience was investment risk consultant at MSCI Barra, and pension actuarial work on retirement plans.

She received an MBA from the Haas School of Business at the University of California, Berkeley, where she also received an undergraduate degree in applied mathematics. She is a CFA® charterholder. Additionally, Vivienne served on the board of Silicon Valley Ballet and since 2011, has been on the board of Haas Alumni Network. In 2011-12, she volunteered full time as development director at Women’s Initiative for Self Employment, cultivating corporate relationships. She has been an active member of her church since 1987 and led 3 successful capital campaigns ($5m+ total) among many other volunteer positions.

Michael Schuchardt

Managing Director and Financial Services Industry Lead for the West at Protiviti

 

Michael is a Managing Director in Protiviti’s Risk and Compliance Practice focusing on financial risk management. He is a member of Protiviti’s Financial Services Industry (FSI) leadership team and runs the FSI practice in the Western U.S. He has managed large, complex Risk Consulting and Internal Audit engagements for global financial services clients across a wide spectrum of risk management topics.

Prior to joining Protiviti, he spent over three years with GE Capital managing credit operations and leading internal consulting projects in their Six Sigma program. He also brings external consulting experience with Arthur Andersen, and has held operational leadership positions with several large financial institutions, including Wells Fargo and Ford Credit Corporation.
