I was at an industry conference recently that focused entirely on mobile wallets, listening to presenters from various industries talk about the future of mobile wallets. One thing is for sure: Nobody has any idea how and even if a mobile wallet will ever become widely used.

Banks are building mobile wallets, mainly out of fear of losing touch with their customers. They don’t know what market opportunity the wallet will solve but they will have a solution in the market. Many are building a solution simply to say they were first to market.

What is the aim of the Bitcoin Masterclass organized by Innopay?
Jacob Boersma: For the past 3 years we have invited speakers on Bitcoin to our annual European payment summit to talk about this crypto-currency and how it is developing. Due to time constraints, there is never time at such a conference to go into depth about what Bitcoin is, how it works and where it is going. This Masterclass, for which we are working with Pierre Noizat of Paymium, will give attendees the chance to really make a deep dive into this fascinating topic and really explore both the opportunities and risks of Bitcoin.

Chase Paymentech, a subsidiary of financial services provider JPMorgan Chase Bank, has released Dynamic Hosted Payments Page, a technology aimed at helping European online merchants upgrade security.

When merchants submit a payment transaction using the Dynamic Hosted Payments Page, they do not store, process or transmit cardholder payment data. This helps the merchant lower its Payment Card Industry (PCI) compliance responsibilities at both the acceptance and storage level. Instead, online shoppers upon checkout are seamlessly taken to a Chase Paymentech page for final payment processing. Once the payment transaction is complete, the customer is then returned to the merchant’s shopping cart application where the order status is updated. Dynamic Hosted Payments Page creates a payment page that maintains the merchant’s own branding including logos, pictures and other design elements.

The new Citadel variant discovered by Trusteer researchers contains Man-in-the-Browser (MitB) code which alters the form fields users are asked to fill in on Payza's log-in page. More specifically, the code adds an additional PIN (personal identification number) field to the authentication form.
